About Amanda
I began my musical journey at the age of 7 when I started learning the violin. This led me to eventually major in Music Education at Humboldt State University in Arcata California. While studying there I played cello pans in the Humboldt Calypso Ensemble, learned rebab and bonang in a traditional Javanese Gamelan called Seqar Sequoia, sang in the Jazz Orchestra, played banjo in a dixieland band, and played violin in the Humboldt Symphony.
After graduating HSU I was hired at San Luis Coastal School District in San Luis Obispo, California teaching Kindergarten through sixth grade general music and beginning band. I was teaching up to 700 different students a week!
This all led to me eventually teaching at Laguna Middle School in 2019. Middle school students are my favorite, no joke.
My family and I just moved to Royersford in 2024 and we live right up the street from the Spring Ford school sites on Lewis Road. This is a special area, and I am currently subbing for various school districts in the area. While it was so sad to leave my students and community in California, we are so excited to build and grow here in our new home. I bring over 18 years of diverse musical experience and passion to this area.
